The Turtle Flambeau, "wild and wonderful" remains one of Wisconsin's outstanding outdoor destinations. An impoundment of over 14,326 acres, flooding 11 natural lakes, three rivers, and several creeks, creating 212 miles of shoreline and 195 islands.
Fishermen can enjoy the solitude of a vast wilderness area to pursue their limit of walleye, musky, small mouth bass, crappie and panfish. River fishing on the Turtle and Flambeau Rivers, and several streams beckon to the trout devotees.
The Turtle-Flambeau is a protected wilderness area, securing its rugged beauty and unspoiled wild character for generations to come. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, a 26-mile boat or canoe trip on the north fork of the Flambeau traverses 23 rapids, providing water thrills.
Wildlife is abundant, with the highest number of bald eagle, osprey and common loon breeding pairs of any Wisconsin lake area.

In Autumn, brilliant maple and aspen foliage reflects off the mirror-like surface of the autumn waters. There are over 100 miles of ATV trails and over 300 miles of mountain bike trails to enjoy all year long.
